Todd Marcus, whose business development experience spans several industries, arrived in the emerging California cannabis industry at a pivotal time. After decades of appreciation for the personal benefits of cannabis, he worked with startups such as Digama consulting, CannaFormatics, and compassion programs like the Sweetleaf Collective. In this episode, Todd shares his own story- highlighting the value of a personalized approach, the subtleties of cannabis classification systems for genetics, terpenes, and tips for thoughtful consumers facing an ocean of available products.

His passion for the plant is its ability to allow him to see what's behind the curtain as a human engaging with an emerging industry- which has been new for many people, no matter their field of knowledge.

He currently focuses on sustainability and adaptation to our changing climate, with a specific area of interest being subsurface drainage and irrigation and other agriculture and land use management developments that meld ancient practices with modern technology.

Todd is an advocate for compassionate cannabis use and volunteers with San Francisco's Sweetleaf Collective.
