Levi Strom is the founder and CEO of award-winning cannabis brand Awakened, a California-based health and beauty company focused on whole-plant cannabis and hemp topicals, edibles, and sublingual products. In this episode, Levi talks about discovering acidic cannabinoids for pain management after a serious surfing accident. The topicals Levi created for his own recovery soon became a 'thing' with family and friends and a brand was born. Driven to find non-psychoactive pain management in order to return to work, and before THCa was a term,  he learned about the benefits of raw cannabis from Dr. William McCourtney, a pioneer in cannabis juicing credited with discovering  ACDC genetics.

A long-time surfer Levi broke his neck in 2011 and had emergency reconstructive spinal surgery. An allergy to prescription painkillers lead Levi down the path of plant-based medicine. His unique raw, acidic based cannabis and hemp formulas have earned him multiple Emerald Cup awards and a cult-like following in the California cannabis industry. Levi is also a recording artist currently releasing music under the moniker Wyld Snapper on his own Vow Records label and host of the Head Change podcast that explores the science, culture, and spirituality of cannabis. If he's not building brands, cutting tracks and casts, you can find him surfing the waves of Southern California on his retro single fin.
